Joseph A. LaPlaca

Joe is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on business litigation in both state and federal courts. He provides businesses and their executives, shareholders, officers, and directors with strategic legal counsel and effective, practical solutions. Joe has successfully litigated a broad range of commercial matters including contract, partnership, and real estate disputes; business tort claims; non-compete and non-solicitation litigation; and employment conflicts. He also has extensive experience in negotiating government contracts. During law school, Joe served as a legal writing assistant and competed and placed nationally on several Moot Court, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Arbitration teams. Joe was also a member of the Moot Court Honors Council and externed for the Honorable Judge Melissa A. Durkin of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

Outside the practice, Joe coaches law students in mock trial competitions at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law.
