It is with great pleasure that we announce the addition of two Partners to Raines Feldman’s growing national Corporate Practice.  The arrival of Mitchell S. Cohen in Los Angeles and Ruba R. Qashu in Orange County further strengthens our corporate capabilities by adding two well-recognized leaders in the debt finance, corporate and public securities fields.

The firm’s M&A practice, in particular, has experienced significant growth over the past several years, underscoring our continued commitment to supporting clients at the forefront of the rapidly evolving legal market.  The addition of Mitchell and Ruba to the team further expands our practice areas for our growing roster of entrepreneurial, private equity, venture capital, middle market and institutional clients.  We are very excited and proud to welcome each of these talented colleagues into the partnership.

MITCHELL S. COHEN / Los Angeles

Mitchell is a member of the Firm’s Corporate Finance and M&A Group. He focuses primarily on debt finance transactions as well as mergers and acquisitions and general corporate representation. Mitchell has extensive experience in a wide range of secured and unsecured debt financings in the middle market, including senior, mezzanine, second lien and subordinated debt, convertible debt and other forms of private credit and junior capital finance. He has represented borrowers, issuers and investment funds and other non-traditional lenders in various types of debt financing transactions, including restructurings. He also advises both acquirors and sellers in various negotiated acquisition and divestiture transactions involving equity and assets and leveraged buyouts.

RUBA R. QASHU / Orange County                                                   

Ruba has served as lead counsel for numerous companies, assisting them in venture capital, corporate finance, private and public offerings and merger transactions. She specializes in representing companies in all phases of initial public offerings, secondary registrations, rights offerings, CMPOS, PIPES, shelf registrations and shelf take downs. She regularly advises companies regarding ‘34 Act reporting compliance, listings on national securities exchanges and corporate governance matters. She also represents numerous start-up companies as well as real estate funds.
