Discovery Sued Over All-American Muslim Show!
Perez Hilton Miles Feldman / Raines Feldman
Visionaire Media, which was set up to create cross-cultural programming with shows like On the Road in America and Muslim Women, has filed a lawsuit against Discovery Communications, as they claim they stole an idea from them which ultimately became All-American Muslim, which aired on TLC!
Miles Feldman and Raines Feldman, who also name Noessa Higa as a defendant in the legal documents, which seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages, as well as screen credit, as they claim that after meetings with Discovery executives Rita Mullin and Eric Powell, and agreed that they "orally represented" them "that if Discovery liked and used the American Muslim project, that it would hire and pay" Visionaire, and they would also receive credit as producer! The company apparently even began searching out potential families, conducting interviews, and preparing a budget, but when Higa announced she was leaving in April, they discovered that she was working on the project with Discovery with "the same casting, roles of cast members, locations, plot elements, major events and themes." However, the suit acknowledges that she was obligated to not disclose the project and her participation, as Discovery "intentionally took actions in an effort to induce Higa to breach her contract with Visionaire."
Shady shady shady!
Again, people! When you make agreements - GET IT IN WRITING!
