Howard K. Alperin
Howard K. Alperin has over 25 years of litigation and trial experience in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. Howard also has extensive transactional experience, giving him the unique ability to handle all facets of his clients’ ongoing litigation and transactional needs.
Howard’s litigation practice includes representation of plaintiffs and defendants in all aspects of complex business, commercial, entertainment, and intellectual property litigation matters, including antitrust, unfair competition, false and deceptive trade practices, media torts (particularly, misappropriation of name and likeness, defamation, and invasion of privacy), class action litigation, SLAPP litigation, and a broad range of other corporate and commercial litigation matters. Howard has prosecuted and defended professional liability claims (including attorneys and accountants). Howard has also counseled and represented defendants in connection with litigation involving the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Trade Commission, and Department of Corporations in securities/business fraud cases. Additionally, Howard has extensive jury and bench trial experience and has argued cases in both federal and state appellate courts.
Howard has handled transactional matters focusing on the representation of talent agencies, entertainment production companies, and recording artists, as well as information technology, advertising, marketing, and promotion companies.
Prior to joining Raines Feldman, Howard was a partner in the prestigious antitrust and business litigation boutique firm Blecher Collins & Pepperman, P.C., in Los Angeles, where he worked closely with the renowned antitrust trial lawyer Maxwell M. Blecher.
Howard is an avid lacrosse player and is a founding member of the Hollywood Lacrosse Club and Los Angeles Box Lacrosse.
