
Overview
Deanna Whitestone is a corporate and securities attorney who advises both private and public companies on a broad range of legal matters, including entity formation, commercial contracts, employment issues, and various transactional work. Her transactional experience spans public and private offerings of debt and equity, PIPE deals, mergers and acquisitions, and reverse mergers. Deanna also brings deep expertise in SEC compliance, regularly assisting public companies with corporate governance, disclosure requirements, and the preparation and filing of registration statements, proxy materials, and periodic reports under the Securities Acts of 1933 and 1934.
Deanna began her legal career at FINRA, where she worked in both the Enforcement and Member Regulation departments, gaining valuable insight into securities regulation. Before joining Raines Feldman LLP, she practiced corporate and securities law at the Post Law Group PC and Richardson & Patel LLP.
She earned her B.S. with honors from Portland State University and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Southwestern University School of Law. At Southwestern, she served as Lead Articles Editor of the Journal of Law and Trade in the Americas and published an article comparing U.S. and Canadian responses to Enron. Deanna also serves on the governing board of APEX Academy, a public charter school supporting at-risk youth in Los Angeles.
